I hope you are doing well, having a nice weekend, and if you are in the local area – keeping dry and safe in the rainy weather!
I am pleased to share the news that my solo show “Momento Mori” opens today at Montpelier Arts Center in Laurel, MD. The show will remain open until May 14, 2023. The show includes a variety of hand pulled prints such as collagraph, monotype, and watercolor monoprint, as well as large pastel artworks, all exploring the theme “Momento Mori”.
Memento mori is Latin for “remember that you have to die.” This concept has been studied by philosophers and artists throughout history. Polt seeks to explore this concept in her latest work from a perspective of remembering our mortality, allowing ourselves to focus on the preciousness and fragility of life, and seek out what is important each day. https://arts.pgparks.com/2893/Exhibitions
There will be a public reception on Saturday, May 13 from 2 to 4 pm. The Arts Center is hosting an Open House at the same time – so stop on by! I would love to see you!
