I have started to enjoy working with fine art markers on less porous surfaces, such as vellum. I enjoy the watercolor quality the markers give when not fully absorbed into the paper. I begin with a pencil sketch and overlay the sketch with a semi-transparent page. Then I begin sculpting the image with various colors; beginning with the lightest colors and gradually moving darker. The final step is adding detail, texture and movement with india ink.
